We purchased 5- gallons cans didn’t even make it to end of summer what a waste of time and money, add me also please. We are in our 80s and my husband sanded the deck on his hands and knees to the bare wood of which I have pictures. We followed directions to a T in applying it and it did last thru 2 winters. Now 2 yrs older, we cannot sand this ourselves and cannot afford to hire anyone. We spent 175 bucks for the paint and still have a full gal that we were going to use on trim. How can we apply for any or all of what we spent plus the work involved?

Is it too late to get any kind of reimbursement? I applied this product in the fall of 2016 and it started pealing by spring of 2017. I have the original receipt and the kicker was Home Depot had a promotion that promoted to buy this product all the while a class action law suit was going on.
Behr Premium Advanced Deckover 5 Gal;
I went as far to scrap any loose material the following year and hand brush the product to no avail. Product did not come close to what the advertisement concluded. Sent photos to Bear and they are willing to replace the material but as far as i’m concerned the entire deck needs to be replaced.

We applied this product 4 years ago and within a year the peeling started and we had black mold appear. It started spreading from one end of our deck to another. We have a very large deck and are now having to replace it. My husband has a large Hotsy heated pressure washer and it won’t touch the mold.
It Can Be Used For Stippling And Applying Sand Paints.
They couldn’t do anything about it til it was done. I have some issues ,and cant do it again. I sure will never purchase any product from them and will be sure anyone I know that’s going to get paint or stain that they don’t buy behr. So sick to my stomach because I can’t fix it on my own cost is too high. The Behr DeckOver class action lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Illinois federal court by plaintiffs Kathleen Bishop, Nancy Graf, Jeanne Haman, Tom Paul and Mark Sumpter.

We’re now contemplating replacing the boards instead. The paint has peeled in so many places. I purchased and used 3 5 gallon and 4 gallons of this product. I have to have it removed and refinish all my decking. I used the Behr deckover on my screened in porch, which is concrete.
Product Usage
When I stain the deck and repaint the porch frame, I will not use any Behr products. My neighbors had also used this product on their deck. They did theirs in the fall of 2016. Their deck started to peel almost immediately and was very noticeable by last summer. I thought that they probably hadn’t applied the product correctly and that’s what led to those results. And to think I almost went back and bought more of this after I just finished re-sanding my entire deck after only 6 months of Deckover staying adhered to the surface.

The wood is rotten and paint is pealing. Did you get any more info about a new class action suit? Got an estimate to repair, $74,000. Would love to be a part of if new suit is filed.
I had a 16×8 deck at my RV, that I built and lumber isn’t cheap and neither is a gallon of this BEHR Premium DeckOver. I ended up with chipping and peeling all over the deck in a very short time. Oh my, I just applied this to my deck two weeks ago. I was told how great this product was. I pray I might have a better outcome. I don’t have a large income and can not afford to have to redo my deck……that is why I got this product.
Stupidly, when it started to peel, we kept touching up the peeling areas and then the rot started. My daughter’s foot fell through the deck. Thankfully she wasn’t hurt other than scratches. I couldn’t understand why my deck was rotting. I don’t know why it finally dawned on me to see if anything can be done to remove the deckover from my three levels of massive deck area and found out about the lawsuit.
There is a large part of my deck that remains good and without defects but the areas that are chipping really look bad. No joke, I work at the Home Depot in the paint department and I warn people not to buy that or the Marquee. Spent hours and hundreds of dollars redoing it!
I have peeling paint over my enter deck. I have scraped, sanded, power washed and in some spots it is not coming off. I don’t feel that we should not be spending our time turning boards, power washing, etc.for a product that was to be the best thing for deck restoration. I am a painter and have recently began using the Behr products this season. Out of the three Decks that I have only had one of them call me with peeling issues already…..
We are now facing having perfectly good board removed and replaced as a significant cost to us. We are senior citizens, living primarily on our social security and we can’t afford to waste money like this. We would like compensation from Behr for part, if not all, of the replacement cost of our deck.
